2017 Total UWI-Bordeaux Scholarship Award Ceremony
Launched in 2008, the study programme implemented jointly by Sciences Po Bordeaux, the University of the West Indies and the Université des Antilles (Martinique) aims to train students in political science while giving them a focus on the Caribbean
Since 2015, the Total Group assists with funding by awarding scholarships to Jamaican students selected by a jury.
At the initiative of this study programme, the Embassy of France in Jamaica continues to facilitate this academic cooperation. On August 24th, Mr Laurent Geslin, chargé d’affaires ad interim, took part in the 2017 Total UWI-Bordeaux Scholarship Award Ceremony at the Redbones Blues Café. On this occasion, the Embassy of France demonstrated its dedication to this programme, which contributes to the dynamic of the bilateral relations between France and Jamaica.
Miss Janique Crosdale and Mr Tafar-I Williams, award recipients travelled to Bordeaux this September to undertake the second year of this five-year programme.
In January 2018, Sciences Po Bordeaux will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of this exchange programme.
