Bastille Day 2018 Festivities

On the occasion of his first Bastille Day in Jamaica, French Ambassador Denys WIBAUX welcomed Jamaican authorities, members of the diplomatic corps, figures from the economic and cultural spheres, as well as the French community in the Embassy’s gardens.

In his speech, the Ambassador underlined the French symbol of “ la prise de la Bastille” which is the celebration of democracy and human rights. His Excellency also mentioned the French commitment into the European Union’s integration process as well as into the international stakes as global warming. He also made a point of acknowledging the plural economic and cultural projects that have been undertaken by France and Jamaica, for instance the Paradise Park project launched in 2019.
