A Fruitful Diplomatic Week
For the first time under the new government, Diplomatic Week saw the gathering of more than 75 ambassadors, 30 of whom were non-resident.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Kamina Johnson Smith launched the work sessions during which the Finance Minister, the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and the Minister of Tourism gave presentations.
JAMPRO, the public agency for economic development presented the investment opportunities in the country. A field visit of the Carribean Maritime Institute and of the Kingston Harbour underlined the maritime assets of Jamaica which could help its candidacy for the International Maritime Organization.
The traditional gala dinner at the Governor General’s residence rounded off this week of diplomatic work.
