France helps the victims of “Dorian”

A detachment of about 50 French soldiers from the armed forces of the West Indies, consisting essentially of an element of the 33rd Marine Infantry Regiment (33rd RIMa), as well as a medical team and a team of mechanics, has been deployed to the ravaged islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama in The Bahamas, after the devastation caused by hurricane Dorian.

These soldiers, stationed in Martinique, in the armed forces in the French West Indies, joined the crew of the Dutch amphibious warfare ship of the Royal Netherlands Navy, the "Johan De Witt" from St Marteen, as part of a European operational cooperation.
