Training program in Kingston organized by the French Customs

As part of the capacity building mission between partner administrations, a training session: “Container targeting & control”, was held for 32 agents of the Jamaica Customs Agency, in Kingston June 3-6, 2019.

This training program, organized by the French Customs in cooperation with the Interministerial Center for Anti-Drug Training (CIFAD), focused on the targeting and control of maritime containers. The theoretical and practical contributions of the training will enable Jamaican agents to strengthen their ability to deal with this type of illegal trafficking.

During the award ceremony of the certificates of participation, Mrs. Velma Walker-Ricketts, Jamaica Customs Commissioner and His Excellency Mr. Denys WIBAUX, Ambassador of France to Jamaica, reiterated the importance of international cooperation in the fight against organized crime.

The implementation of similar actions are set to be put in place in the coming months.
